ARGYLE'S youngsters maintained their unbeaten start to life in Merit League One with a very good victory away to a strong Milton Keynes side.
A single goal, from defender Will Sargent, was enough for Kevin Hodges' charges to claim an impressive win on the road.
Thirteen points from their opening five matches is a great record for the young Pilgrims who had to withstand heavy first half pressure when facing a very strong wind.
While keeping Dons out, Sargent volleyed the one chance over the bar before putting a header over from a good position.
Sargent made amends, on 70 minutes, when Jack Calver's corner found him and his header flew into the home goal.
This goal gave Argyle the impedus to push forward, and substitute Alex Fletcher had a great chance when rounding the home 'keeper, but was forced wide. When he pulled the ball across goal, Jason Vincent could not react enough to force it home.
Argyle played further pressure in the closing stages, and although they could not add a second, Hodges was delighted with the victory.
Argyle: Cory Harvey, Mason Hughes, Owen Jones, Will Sargent, Tom Moxham, Billy Palfrey (Alex Fletcher 65), Jack Calver (Jordan Bentley 83), Callum Hall, Ben Steer, Louis Rooney (Jamil Roberts 70), Jason Vincent.
