Recovery Time
2nd March 2015
AFTER a 2-0 loss to Bury ended Argyle’s excellent recent form, John Sheridan is eager for his team to recover quickly from a momentum-draining defeat.
Second half goals from Daniel Nardiello and Danny Rose for the Shakers brought an end to a run of four consecutive victories that saw the Greens re-enter the Sky Bet League 2 playoff places, with Bury themselves strengthening their push for promotion. The Pilgrims now face two more teams with genuine playoff aspirations in the next seven days, and Sheridan is now looking to the lads to prove they deserve to be in that conversation themselves in the games against Stevenage and Northampton Town.
“We have had a brilliant run, and full credit to the players,” said John.
“There’s not really a lot I can say to the players, after the results they have given me, so we have just got to take it on the chin. It’s a bad result for us, but we have got to stay strong, go to Stevenage and roll our socks up, because it will be a really tough game there.
“It is a place we can go and win, though, and that’s what we have got to do after a bad result, and we have got to go and turn Stevenage into a good result.
“We have to take it on the chin and try and bounce back against good teams. If you are going to get out of the division this is what’s going to happen: we are going to lose games and we’ll lose games again before the end of this season, so we’ve got to bounce back on Tuesday, and then even on Saturday’s game.”
