Trust and Support
11th March 2015
A SPECIAL presentation will be held at Home Park...
...when England Under-20s take on their USA counterparts on Sunday, March 29.
Plymouth Argyle Supporters Training & Development Trust will hand over a cheque for nearly £3,500 to Plymouth Schools FA to assist the development of football in the region.
Plymouth Schools FA have been significantly supported by the PAST&DT, a registered charity formed by various Argyle supporters’ groups in 1995 to assist in the provision of sporting activities for youngsters in the south west and, in particular, to provide education and training in the skills and techniques in football.
PAST&DT have kindly donated two playing strips for the Plymouth Schools FA’s Under-14 and Under-15 representative sides and are providing a donation to help fund participation of the Under-11 and Under-14 teams in Jersey and Isle of Wight Schools Football Festivals this Easter.
Trustees from PAST&DT will present a cheque for £3,475 to Plymouth Schools FA during half-time of the prestigious friendly international, which will go towards the cost of attending the festivals.
Plymouth Schools FA is a voluntary organisation which provides football for youngsters aged 7-18 through primary and secondary school competitions and representative sides at Under-11, Under-14 and Under-15 age groups.
They are hugely grateful for the support the PAST&DT has provided this year; as a voluntary organisation, they rely heavily on funding.
A number of former players of the Association have progressed on to professional clubs over the years. One of the most recent players to sign a professional contract was Lloyd Jones, who signed for Liverpool in May 2011 from Argyle’s youth-up.
Lloyd has since earned a full professional contract, captained Liverpool’s reserve team, and is currently playing on loan at Accrington Stanley. He has also represented England at Under-20 level several times.
Further information about PAST&DT can be found on their website, www.pastdt.co.uk.
