GOALSCORERS Zak Ansah and Jason Banton paid tribute to the Home Park crowd for helping the Pilgrims claw their way back into the Sky Bet League 2 play-off semi-final.

With five minutes to play in the Home Park first-leg, Argyle trailed 3-0 to Wycombe, with Paul Hayes, Aaron Holloway and Steven Craig having scored before the hour, and were closer to oblivion than Wembley.

However, with the Green Army serenading their heroes with Bob Marley’s Three Little Birds – ‘Don't worry about a thing, ’cause every little thing gonna be alright’ – substitutes Zak and Jason netted within five minutes of each other to leave the tie delicately poised.

“The fans were brilliant – even at 3-0 down, they were spurring us on,” said Zak, who believes that similar backing at Wycombe on Thursday will again benefit the Pilgrims.

“If they get behind us like they did the whole game today, they will definitely have an impact on the game. We have just got to believe. It’s only half-time.”

Jason said: “I have been here for few derbies against Exeter but I think that topped it off. When I played in the derbies, it’s usually been relegation or mid-table, but the atmosphere was a great atmosphere in terms of play-offs – to see the fans, at 3-0 down, still singing away…you can’t beat that.”
