Argyle to Partner With Stem
18th November 2015
ARGYLE, along with Plymouth Pavilions, have signed up with Stem Group, with the technology experts becoming Appointed Technology Partner on a five-year agreement.
The partnership with Plymouth Argyle Football Club and Plymouth Pavilions will see Stem Group leverage its extensive experience and knowledge by providing both venues with an updated Cloud IT system, Unified Communications solution and high-speed WiFi.
The “Official Technology Partner” status was awarded to Stem Group following the successful completion of an extensive tender process. The tender process enabled Stem Group to demonstrate its ability to effectively meet the unique needs and requirements of both the Club and the Pavilions – within a specified timeframe.
The Cloud IT system will be provided using Stem’s very own Cloud hosting platform. This platform enables organisations of all sizes to securely run their entire IT Infrastructure from the Cloud while freeing up resources, improving performance and lowering costs. Plymouth Argyle Football Club and Plymouth Pavilions will join businesses such as WPS Insurance and Burts Chips in taking advantage of the industry-leading Cloud solution offered by Stem Group.
Additionally, the Unified Communications solution will be provided using Mitel’s Cloud offering. This solution eliminates the need to buy costly hardware and servers and instead allows businesses to subscribe to flexible payments and terms, as no long-term commitments or large capital expenditures are required.
The partnership will also see Stem Group install a new visitor WiFi system at Plymouth Pavilions to enhance the experience of both staff and visitors. A new WiFi system will also be implemented in parts of Plymouth Argyle Football Club for use by hospitality, media and ticket scanning. Stem will also provide a high speed 100mbit internet connectivity for use by Plymouth Argyle Football Club.
The partnership will also involve Stem Group becoming a Pilgrim Partner of Plymouth Argyle Football Club and a Preferential Member at Plymouth Pavilions. Stem will also provide technology to upgrade other parts of Plymouth Argyle Football Club and Plymouth Pavilions infrastructure.
James Arscott, Stem Group Managing Director, said: "We are delighted to be the appointed technology partner to Plymouth Argyle Football Club and Plymouth Pavilions. We’re looking forward to working with both the club and the Pavilions to update and enhance their IT infrastructure across both venues; we hope these changes will positively affect the experience of their staff and visitors for many years to come.”
Argyle Chief Executive Martyn Starnes said: "IT functionality has been a problem at the Club for some time with ageing systems that have been beyond their useful life. After a lengthy period of assessment, in collaboration with our friends at Plymouth Pavilions, we have been able to identify cost effective solutions to our technology issues with Stem's Cloud and Unified Communications services. We are really pleased to welcome Stem as our official technology partner and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial business relationship.”
Gavin Marshall, Plymouth Pavilions General Manager said: "Stem Group and Plymouth Pavilions have worked successfully together for many years, and we are delighted to recognise Stem as our official technology partners. We are really looking forward to enhancing our IT infrastructure in the coming months, with a new Cloud based system, new computer hardware for all our staff, and enhanced wifi for our customers.”
