Argyle 5000
1st October 2015
AS well as being our first meeting with local rivals Exeter City of the 2015-16 season, our game against the Grecians on Tuesday, October 6 will be Argyle's 5000th game in history.
To mark the occasion, we will be producing a extra-special, one-off, limited-edition issue of our Pilgrim match-day programme, featuring a comprehensive look back on our first 4,999 games. We analyse the players, managers and games that have shaped our history; the highs, very highs, lows and even lowers; the history and the fabric of our great club.As this is also our 101st derby with Exeter, we will also look at our shared history - players that have become legends in both green and red; monumental derby games in our history; players that have saved their very best for contests our closest rivals.
The 84-page special will be priced at £5, and will be a unique keepsake to mark this historic occasion.
The Argyle Superstore will also be stocking some unique items containing our specially commissioned Argyle 5000 logo.
Also in the Superstore, right now, are copies of Paul Sturrock's autobiography, 'Luggy'. The former Argyle gaffer, now in charge at Yeovil Town, speaks candidly in the book about his two spells in charge of Argyle, as well as the rest of his storied career.
