Brendan in Charge

BRENDAN Malone, the referee for Tuesday's match, will be in charge of Argyle for the tenth time when Argyle meet Exeter in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

The first came back in September 2010, when we lost 2-0 to Brighton in Sky Bet League 1. We only won one of the first six game Brendan took charge of: a 3-0 League Cup win against Portsmouth. That initial sextet of games also included three draws.

Our last three outings with Brendan on the whistle have been more pleasing. A 1-0 win over Rochdale - thanks to a Reuben Reid penalty - in August 2013 was followed by wins last season over Southend (2-0, including eight yellow cards and a red for Southend's Cian Bolger in the first half) and Accrington (1-0). All came at Home Park.

This will be Brendan's ninth game of the season. The previous eight have seen him show 19 yellow cards and two reds.
