Living for the City

DEREK Adams believes Argyle’s 2-0 victory over Exeter City has only served to give the team, the club and the entire city more momentum.

The Pilgrims’ boss guided his side to victory in Argyle’s 5,000th ever game, as goals from Hiram Boateng and Craig Tanner ensured a comfortable 2-0 success at a raucous Home Park.

Another win over the Grecians is the latest in an already-long reel of highlights of Derek’s fledgling tenure at the club, and his philosophy of strength in togetherness across the entire city of Plymouth has only been further strengthened with the victory.

“There’s a heartbeat in the football club,” said Adams. “There’s a great soul, and we’re bouncing along just now.

“We need to keep it going, but we’ve got a city that’s with us. We’ve got a football club that is beating, and we need that to go forward.

“I think that there was a large crowd here tonight, and that was important. It was a bigger crowd than I expected, and you can see the amount of people that have just turned up on the night to support the team. I think the positivity about the place is great.

“We’ve got to keep that going. It’s a tough league we’re in, and the momentum’s there – I can see it in the players.”
