Peninsular Preview - Wendron v Argyle

ARGYLE are back on the road for another long trip in the Peninsula League this weekend.

Following on from the thrilling 3-3 draw at Penryn in midweek, the Pilgrims travel even deeper into Cornwall for a tough game at in-form Wendron United.

It is a significant fixture for the young Greens, as we look to close an 11-point gap on runaway leaders Mousehole.

“We carry on with the same attitude and another long trip is part of their development,” said Head Coach Kevin Nancekivell. “We look to improve on Wednesday night’s performance and take the good aspects from that game.

“It’s an education in itself to take on the demands of playing for points twice in the space of four days. It’s a new challenge for a lot of our players and the reality of football is that very few players start every game feeling 100% perfect.

“It then becomes a question of the mental strength and character of the players, which is something that we look to enhance through all our age groups at the Academy. We’ve had a good rest period and we’ll be fresh for Wendron.”
