Band of Joy
4th April 2016
ARGYLE are going back to the future on their travels next season.
The PUMA kit that we will be wearing for our away games in 2016-17 pays homage to one of the all-time iconic Argyle strips - green and black bands across the chest of a white shirt.
It harks back to the 1964-65 Second Division campaign, when Malcolm Allison was manager; Frank Lord and Mike Trebilcock were joint leading scorers; and Tony Book, John Hore, Barrie Jones, Norman Piper and Richard Reynolds made their debut.
Like the choice of next season's green-with-white-pinstripes home shirt, the away strip was selected after consultation with supporters representing a wide spectrum of the Argyle family.
As with the 1964-65 strip, the away shorts will also be white, with a green trim; likewise the socks.
