Kevin in Charge
18th April 2016
IN a change to the original line-up, Kevin Johnson will now be the referee for Argyle's game at Leyton Orient on Tuesday night, replacing Tim Robinson.
Kevin's first game this season was our 2-1 home defeat to Gillingham in the Capital One Cup, in which Argyle's excellent performance and Craig Tanner's stunning volley were not quite enough to progress past the Sky Bet league 1 side. The Gillingham goals that night were scored by Bradley Dack, who has just been named Sky Bet League 1 player of the year, and Jake Hessenthaler, the son of Andy Hessenthaler, the interim Leyton Orient manager. Hessenthaler was cautioned in that game, as was Gary Sawyer.Johnson's two prior visits to Home Park were both 1-1 draws - against Stevenage and Wimbledon. In the three Argyle games he has refereed, Kevin has only shown six yellow cards in total.
This season, Kevin has shown 90 yellows in 33 games, and brandished just two red cards. One came last Saturday, when Wigan's David Perkins was dismissed, and the other was only three games previous, when he sent off Blackpool's Jack Redshaw.
