Peninsula Report - Penzance 1 Argyle 2

IT was hard graft but Argyle have now won nine straight games in the Peninsula League after a battling success at Penance.

The Pilgrims started brightly enough and snatched a lead on 12 minutes when Jason Vincent hit the net with a crisp finish from just inside the area.

Penzance equalised before half-time - the first goal Argyle have conceded in this division since early March - and it was a case of digging in until half-time.

The winner arrived on 72 minutes when a delightful free-kick from Jack Calver was well saved by the home custodian but Callum Hall was in the right place to gobble up the rebound.

Argyle have just one day to recover before making the trip to Illogan RBL on Thursday night. Following that, the lads have an away game at St Dennis on Saturday before Wendron visit Seale Hayne on Bank Holiday Monday.
