Argyle 0 Exmouth Town 0

ARGYLE maintained their unbeaten start to the Carlsberg South Western Peninsula League season...

...with a battling 0-0 draw against a strong Exmouth side at Coach Road.

In a game of very few chances, the Pilgrims had to contend with the experience and physical prowess displayed by their visitors, eventually settling into a comfortable passing rhythm.

Both teams created one big chance in the second period, as Argyle saw a Callum Rose header cleared off the line following a corner and then Exmouth had a penalty shout waved away after claiming for a handball on the line.

The Pilgrims now move forward to mouthwatering clash at home to St Austell on Tuesday night. The Cornishmen finished runner-ups in the league last season and are widely considered one of the top teams in Peninsula football.

The game kicks-off at 7.30pm on Tuesday, August 23 at Coach Road in Newton Abbot.
