BRENDAN Malone will take charge of Argyle’s second home game of the season against Mansfield on Saturday.
Brendan has been an EFL referee since 2010 and has been in charge of 10 Argyle matches, nine of those at Home Park.
His first match at the Theatre of Greens was back in September 2010 which saw a 2-0 defeat for Argyle against Brighton and Hove Albion.
He was previously in Plymouth for this fixture last season where the Pilgrims won 3-0. This match made national headlines as Mansfield substitute Adi Yussuf urinated by the touchline and was later issued a five-match ban and a fine of £700.
Brendan was in charge of 17 Sky Bet League Two matches last season where he gave out 38 yellow and two red cards. He has refereed four games in the EFL, showing 18 yellow cards, which is an average of 4.5 per game. However, his average for an Argyle match is just two.
The Pilgrims have won the last four times when Malone has been the man with the whistle and with a strong home record against Mansfield, Argyle will be hoping for a result this Saturday.
