Under-18s: Bournemouth 0 Argyle 0

THE young Pilgrims maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a second away draw in the Southern Section of the Football League Youth  Alliance.

Both teams had chances in an even first half which was played in very blustery conditions but it was the Cherries who came closest to breaking the deadlock with a long range effort that grazed Michael Cooper's crossbar.

The second half saw Argyle tear into their hosts, creating several scoring chances, but for once they had left their shooting boots back in Devon.

In the end it was only two great saves from Cooper that denied the home side what would have been an undeserved victory.

"The lads worked really hard to make it uncomfortable for Bournemouth but unfortunately for us their goalkeeper was in fine form," said Academy Manager Kevin Hodges.

"Overall we dominated the second period and with better finishing would have won the game."

Argyle: Michael Cooper, Harry Hodges (Tom Purrington 72), Harry Downing, Jordan Bentley, Ryan Law, Josh Richards, Dan Rooney, Matt Ward(Cameron Sangster 70), Billy Craske, Alex Fletcher, Alex Battle.
