DEREK Adams is looking forward to the exposure the Pilgrims will get when their FA Cup replay at Newport is screened live on national television.
BT Sport will be showing the second match of the second-round tie at Rodney Parade on Wednesday, December 21, after the two sides drew 0-0 at Home Park in their first engagement. It will be the fifth time this season that the pair have played each other.
“We are obviously delighted,” said the Argyle manager. “The game is going to get a lot of publicity and it’s obviously good for the football club that it is going to be shown to the world, so to speak. It’s about promoting your brand, and we are able to do that live on BT.
“Everybody will be looking forward to that game and it’s great for so many people that are Plymouth Argyle fans and Newport fans that they will be able to tune into it.”
As well as the exposure, and the opportunity to progress in the competition, the Pilgrims will also receive a small payment from BT.
“Any money that the football club can get that they are not expected to have is beneficial,” said Derek. “It’s money that they didn’t have and they will use it as they see best.”
