Derek: Correct Decision Made

ARGYLE boss Derek Adams has backed the decision to call off Saturday's away game at Yeovil Town.

The decision was made by match referee Lee Collins shortly after 12.30pm to postpone the match because of the deteriorating condition of the Huish Park turf.

Overnight rain had been falling on top of protective covers in Somerset, but when covers had to be removed in preparation for the game, the rain intensified and soon saturated the pitch. With puddles forming, over two hours until kick-off and no abatement forecast, the call was made to come again another day.

"The referee has made the correct decision," said Derek. "When you take into account the weather conditions and the forecase, then it is the right call to postpone the match.

"All of the staff and the players feel sorry for the travelling supporters. We were going to have a large following at Yeovil - we hope they will be able to make it when the match is rearranged."
