James in Charge
15th January 2016
SATURDAY'S referee, as Argyle meet Stevenage at Home Park, is James Linington.
Linington’s most recent visit to Home Park was on November 10 when Argyle lost 5-3 to Millwall Johnstone's Paint Trophy. Two yellow cards were issued this match; to Argyle’s Ben Purrington and Millwall’s Byron Webster. James awarded a penalty to Millwall’s Lee Gregory to restore their two-goal advantage.
We have plenty of winning form with James in the middle, though. His previous two games saw 2-0 victories over AFC Fylde and Hartlepool.
In his last game, James oversaw a win for Preston away at Bristol City, cautioning two City players.
So far this season, James has refereed 23 games, showing a total of 67 yellow cards and sending off three players. Two of those red cards came in one game when Bristol Rovers met Oxford United. Luton v Bristol City, back in August, is his only game of the season in which he did not show a yellow card to a player.
