Project January
1st January 2016
ARGYLE goalkeeper Luke McCormick has emphasised how important January is for the squad.
Derek Adams' men come up against four of the teams that are in the promotion places throughout January as they look to keep up their winning run. The Christmas period was just as important though with a congested fixture list that saw the Pilgrims secure the maximum nine points.
"It's going to be a huge month and hopefully we can keep the momentum up that we've gained over the Christmas period," said Luke, "and take it into January where we can keep ourselves in a similar position to what we're in at the moment.
"We knew the festive period was going to be a big and important time for us and to come through the last three games with maximum points is great.
"We're really pleased and it's put us in a good position.
"We've proved we can mix a bit of football with a lot of hard work and that's what we've had to do over the last few games mostly. Coming from behind on Monday afternoon will have helped us, it just helps us with the confidence.
"I think anyone is capable of beating anyone as we've seen in the league so it goes back to the word consistency again. It's just making sure that we take care of the teams we play regardless whether they're towards the top or at the bottom.
"We've got plenty to smile about at the moment. We'll continue to play with a smile on our faces. Hopefully by the end of the month we'll still be sat in a nice position."
