Reasons to be Cheerful - Wycombe v Argyle
29th January 2016
THIS week's glance at the causes to be optimistic in our next match...
On The Scoresheet
Argyle have scored in every single home game they have played this season. Accrington Stanley are the only other League 2 team to boast the same record, although they have only played 10 home games, to Argyle's 14. The Pilgrims have scored 22 goals at Home Park this season, and 21 away from home.
30 Rocks
On January 30, the day of Argyle's fixture against Wycombe, Argyle have previously played seven games at Home Park, winning four, drawing two and losing one. The most famous of those victories was a 3-2 triumph over Leeds United in 1932, with Jack Vidler, Sammy Black and Jack Leslie scoring the goals for the Pilgrims.
Double Trouble
If Argyle beat Wycombe on Saturday, then it would be a double for the Pilgrims over the Chairboys this season. Argyle got a bit of revenge for last season's play-off defeat against Wycombe as Jake Jervis and Reuben Reid both scored to give Argyle a 2-1 victory. Two other current Argyle players have scored against Wycombe for the Pilgrims; Peter Hartley scored against them in February 2015, and Ryan Brunt scored in the play-off second-leg last May.
