Window Work

ARGYLE are working to keep loan signings Hiram Boateng, Craig Tanner and Oscar Threlkeld at Home Park for the remainder of the season.

The three players’ initial loans finished after the Pilgrims’ 2-0 win over Carlisle United at Blackburn Rovers’ Ewood Park, and manager Derek Adams is keen that they will continue to play a part in the remainder of the campaign which begins with a  home game against closest rivals Northampton in the second week of January.

“They are all keen on staying – there is no doubt about that,” said Derek. “We have just have to try to get things in place.

“We are still working on things. We have got until January 12th, which is our next game, so we have got a bit of time to firm things up.”

A fourth loan player – Argyle Academy graduate, goalkeeper Christian Walton – will be returning to parent club Brighton & Hove Albion now that Luke McCormick has recovered from groin and finger injuries.

“Christian Walton will return to Brighton; the three other ones, we would like to keep,” said Derek. “It’s great that a Plymouth boy has been able to come back. Christian has done well for us in the games he has played and I am delighted that [Brighton manager] Chris Hughton gave us permission to have him.”

Regarding bringing in other players during the January transfer-window, Derek said: “We are trying to strengthen the team, but there’s nothing imminent at this moment in time.”
