Numbers Up

THIS season’s numbers have been allocated to the new-look Pilgrims’ squad.

Jimmy Spencer has been handed the No.9 jersey worn for the past three seasons by Reuben Reid, while Latvian international Nauris Bulvitis has inherited the No. 5 shirt from captain Curtis Nelson.

The majority of players retained from last season have kept their previous numbers, with the two exceptions being young forward Louis Rooney and French goalkeeper Vincent Dorel, who have been promoted higher up the list. Louis has switched from No.24 to No.20, whilst Vincent will wear No.21, instead of No.31.

Eight of manager Derek Adams’s ten summer signings have shirts between Nos. 2-11, with only Oscar Threlked (18) and Karleigh Osborne (19) outside the traditional starting line-up numbers.

Thrice-capped Scottish international David Goodwillie will command the No. 7 shirt, while fellow forward Jordan Slew wears No.8; defenders Gary Miller and Yann Songo’o have been given No.2 and No.4 respectively; while midfielders Connor Smith and Ryan Donaldson are No.6 and No.11.
