Argyle 2 Rangers 2
ARGYLE'S Young Greens can be happy with a well-won hard-earned point in their second Northern Ireland Super Cup match on Tuesday evening. The Under-15 Pilgrims took a 2-0 lead against Scottish Premiership giants Rangers within 15 minutes of the kick-off.
They opened the scoring at Limvady after five minutes from Michael Peck's fifth-minute penalty - his third goal of the tournament.
The lead was doubled by Isaac Burdon, who, like Mike, had scored in the previous day's 10-1 win over Colombian side Alset.
Captain Isaac (pictured above) headed home at the far post to make it 2-0.
The second half saw the Young Pilgrims face a stern test of their defensive mettle from the Glasgow Category 1 Academy side.
Although they were pegged back and had to settle for a draw, there was much to commend their disciplined defensive display against quality opponents.
Argyle are back in action less than 24 hours later, at noon on Wednesday, when they face home side County Armagh to determine where they will finish in the group section of the 26-team tournament.
