Fixtures 2016-17 - The Kick-Off

WE kick off the 2016-17 Sky Bet League Two season against Luton Town at Home Park on Saturday, August 6.

The match against the division’s second favourites for the title pits Pilgrims’ manager Derek Adams against his Kenilworth Road counterpart Nathan Jones, who was a rival for the Argyle managerial vacancy before Derek’s appointment in June last year.

Our opening away trip of the campaign, a week later, following a midweek EFL Cup match, is the longest trip in the EFL calendar, the 750-mile round-trip to Carlisle United.

The Pilgrims, who have opened the last two seasons with an away fixture, follow that gruelling journey with another road-trip three days later, when they come up against former manager John Sheridan at Notts County on Tuesday, August 16.

Argyle will continue to put the early miles on the clock after their second Home Park match of the campaign – at home to Mansfield Town on Saturday, August 20 – when they visit newly relegated Blackpool, whose attack will be led by Jamille Matt, on Saturday, August 27.

All fixtures are subject to confirmation.
