Fixtures 2016-17 - The Long Hauls
22nd June 2016
THE ever-impressive Green Army will make their longest trip of the 2016-17 Sky Bet League Two campaign on the second weekend of the season.
Following the Pilgrims’ opening day clash against Luton Town, we will head on the road to travel to Carlisle United on Saturday, August 13.
It will be the first trip to Brunton Park for Argyle in two seasons, after the same fixture in the 2015-16 campaign was moved to Blackburn Rovers' Ewood Park after severe flooding at Carlisle's usual home.
Two weeks later, another sizable journey will be undertaken, as we head to recently relegated Blackpool. A trip full of straw hats and Jamille Matts will take place on Saturday, August 27.
Another jaunt to the north-west, to Morecambe, is on Saturday, November 26 – this time not a bank holiday, and hopefully the travel chaos that blighted the fixture last season will not be present this time round.
The next away game after that, and the last before Christmas, is on Saturday, December 17, at Accrington Stanley.
Trips towards the north-east of the country are saved for 2017. The cross-country trek to Hartlepool United takes place on Saturday, February 18, with a visit to Doncaster Rovers on Saturday, March 18.
The last day of the season will see a trip to Grimsby Town, back in the EFL having been promoted last season, on Saturday May 6.
All fixtures are subject to confirmation.
