Pilgrim Jordan

...his second spell under Derek Adams' management is as eye-catching as the first.

The 23-year-old forward has joined the Pilgrims two years after creating an impression for the Argyle gaffer's previous side Ross County.

Sheffield-born Jordan made 20 Scottish Premier League appearances for the Staggies in the second half of the 2013-14 season while on loan from Blackburn Rovers. He scored only one goal, in the final match of his Victoria Park spell, but made an impact with his pace and strength.

Jordan had moved to Premier League Blackburn from hometown Sheffield United for a reported £1.1m on August transfer deadline day in 2011 after making only 11 Championship appearances for the Blades, scoring three goals.

In four years at Ewood Park, Jordan made only one, brief but memorable, appearance for Rovers, as an 89th-minute substitute in a 3-2 win at Manchester United.

A slew of loans followed. His first port of call was Stevenage; then fellow League 1 side Oldham, where he sufered a stress fracture of the back; then, after recovery, League 2 Rotherham United. 

In January 2014, the former England Under-19 international was enticed north of the border by Derek and made a winning debut in a 2-1 away Highland Derby victory over Inverness Caledonian Thistle and later teaming up with new Home Park team-mate Yann Songo'o.

Jordan returned to Ewood Park and, after being transfer-listed, was sent out on loan again in 2014-15 to League 1 Port Vale. His Blackburn contract was cancelled by mutual consent midway through the season, after which he joined League 2 Cambridge United on an 18-month deal.

 

After 24 games, including one at Home Park in February 2014, and one goal, his Abbey Stadium contract was cancelled by mutual consent on February 1 and he ended the last campaign with League 1 Chesterfield alongside former Home Park favourite Sylvan Ebanks-Blake.
