ARGYLE have offered new contracts to 13 of the players who took the club to the brink of promotion to Sky Bet League 1 this season.

That includes deals made to six of the side that began Monday's League 2 Play-Off Final at Wembley: three of the starting line-up – Graham Carey, Jake Jervis and Gary Sawyer – have already triggered an extension to their existing deal, while loanees Hiram Boateng and Jamille Matt have returned to their parent club.

Two more loan players who came on as substitutes in the 2-0 defeat by AFC Wimbledon – Jordon Forster and Craig Tanner – have also returned to their club.

Reading forward Craig featured in 50 of the Pilgrims 54 games during the campaign, scoring six goals, while midfielder Hiram played 30 times in two temporary spells from Crystal Palace, scoring twice and being voted the Pilgrims’ Young Player of the Season.

Scottish defender Jordon made 13 appearances on loan from Hibernian and impactful Fleetwood Town forward Jamille scored seven goals in 12 starts.

Three players on the 2015-16 professional roster have been released: Callum Hall, Josh Simpson and Deane Smalley.

Deane's two-year Home Park career was blighted by serious injury which limited him to all but a few minutes of this season. The forward made only five starts and 14 substitute appearances since joining the club from Oxford United at the beginning of the 2014-15 campaign; his sole league goal was an injury-time penalty equaliser in a 1-1 draw against Stevenage at Home Park.

Josh arrived at Home Park last summer after rejecting a new contract at Crawley Town and was limited by injury to 17 starts in which he scored one goal, a memorable late equaliser at Bristol Rovers.

Fellow midfielder Callum graduated from the Academy last season to earn a pro contract but did not make a first-team appearance this season.

Players offered a new deal now have a month to inform the club of their intentions.

We wish all departing Pilgrims every success in their future ventures and thank them for their contribution to life at Home Park, on and off the pitch, during this memorable season.
