David in Charge
24th March 2016
DAVID Webb will be the man in the middle when Argyle travel to Morecambe on Good Friday.
Webb has taken charge of Argyle three times before - the most recent being when the Pilgrims drew 2-2 at Port Vale in the FA Cup two seasons ago. The Greens were 2-0 down that day, but came back to force a replay after a strike from Reuben Reid and the first goal of Ben Purrington's senior career.Prior to that, David was the referee when we lost 2-0 at Blackpool - the infamous Marcel Seip 'thumbs-up' affair - and in a 3-0 reverse at Fleetwood, when Darren Purse was sent off.
This season, Webb has refereed 30 games, showing 87 yellow cards and sending off four players. His last game was the Stevenage v Northampton match from last weekend, in which the Cobblers turned round a two-goal deficit to win 3-2, and Boro had Fraser Franks sent off.
