Dean in Charge
28th March 2016
DEAN Whitestone will be the referee when Argyle meet York at Home Park on Easter Monday.
Dean's first game refereeing Argyle was at Home Park in November 2006, as the Pilgrims lost 2-1 to Leeds United. He second game also saw a defeat - 2-0 at Barnsley, when Simon Walton was sent off - but Argyle have lost just once in the last five occasions that Whitestone has been in the middle. That came when Leyton Orient beat an already relegated Argyle 4-1 in the last game of the 2010-11 season, and Romain Larrieu was sent off.
Happier occasions have seen Argyle win 2-0 at Ipswich, and a pair of 2-1 victories in 2012-13 - against Aldershot and Barnet - denote the last twice Dean has been the whistler for Argyle.
This season, Dean has been in charge of 31 games, issuing 99 cautions and sending off two players. Both of those red cards were shown to Sheffield United players, last into a 3-0 defeat at Fulham in the Capital One Cup.
