Reasons To Be Cheerful - Argyle v Oxford
4th March 2016
WE take our regular at the trends and omens that point towards a positive result this weekend as Argyle meet Oxford at Home Park.
Bouncing back
Before Tuesday's defeat at Barnet, Argyle had lost seven league games and bounced back with a win six times, drawing the other one. That means that 19 of Argyle's points this season have come off the back of losses. Derek will be looking for his side to bounce back once again against Oxford.
Keeping It Clean
Argyle have conceded 28 goals this season, which means that our defence has conceded the fewest in Sky Bet League 2. In the last five games, the Pilgrims have conceded just two goals, and have not conceded more than one goal in their last seven games, since a 3-2 win over Stevenage on January 16.
Spurred On
Argyle have beaten Tottenham on the date of Saturday's game against Oxford, March 6. That game was in 1932, and the Pilgrims won 4-1. Jack Leslie grabbed a brace, with Jack Vidler and Sammy Black also scoring for Argyle, who finished the season in fourth, in the second division; the equivalent of The Championship.
