Reasons to be Cheerful - Morecambe v Argyle

HADEN Tye looks at why we need to optimistic, as Argyle travel to Morecambe this Friday...

Coming Back
Argyle have only one once at The Globe Arena in their four visits – but that win was a special one. The Pilgrims found themselves 2-0 down after 50 minutes, but Ross Jenkins scored 20 minutes from time, and two Warren Feeney penalties, the final one with just four minutes to play, gave Argyle a 3-2 victory. Jenkins would only play for Argyle once more after that game before returning to Watford.

High Five
In March 2014, Argyle strolled to a 5-0 home victory against Morecombe. The goalscorers for the Pilgrims on that day were Durrell Berry, Curtis Nelson, Andres Gurrieri and a double from striker Lewis Alessandra. That game was just over two years ago – the only players that remain from the starting eleven are Nelson and Reuben Reid. First team coach Paul Wotton also started that day, and Tyler Harvey came on as a substitute.

On The March
On March 25 the date that the Pilgrims face Morecambe, it will be 16 years ago that Argyle won away from home 4-0 against Torquay United.  Paul McGregor scored a hat trick and Craig Taylor also scored as Argyle cruised to victory at Plainmoor. McGregor ended up scoring 15 goals for the Pilgrims in that season, including two hat tricks; the one against Torquay and one at Home Park against Barnet in the previous November.
