Oliver in Charge
11th May 2016
OLIVER Langford is in charge of the Sky Bet League 2 Play-Off Semi-Final first leg against Portsmouth at Fratton Park on Thursday.
Oliver has refereed two of our fixtures this season: the 4-1 win at home to Carlisle in August, and the 1-1 draw at Bristol Rovers in January. He only issued three cautions in the two games - one to Luke McCormick in the Carlisle game, and yellows for Kelvin Mellor and Tom Parkes at Rovers.Notable former Argyle games that Oliver has refereed include a 3-2 win at Swindon in which Bradley Wright-Phillips scored a late winner, and Reda Johnson and David Prutton were sent off; a 4-1 win over Northampton after that marked the debuts of Ashley Hemmings, Darren Purse and Max Blanchard, and the return of Nick Chadwick; and a 2-1 win over Chesterfield in March 2014, when the Spireites were top of the league.
This season, Oliver has shown 93 yellow cards from 40 games and sent off four players - three of them straight red cards.
