A very young outfit made a strong start on a bitter night at Coach Road, scoring what turned out to be the winner with a delicious free-kick from Jack Calver on 11 minutes.

Great credit to Stoke Gabriel, who played very well in the second half and forced Argyle to defend in numbers, but the youthful Pilgrims held on for a fine win, setting us up nicely for a Friday night classic in the league against Plymouth Parkway.

The draw for the quarter-finals takes place on January 2.
