Peninsula Report - Godolphin 3 Argyle 6

ARGYLE moved back on top of the Premier Division after coming from behind in a thrilling game at Godolphin.

The Pilgrims started brightly and grabbed the lead when an inviting cross from Alex Fletcher was nodded home by Jack Calver, but the Godolphin response was both ruthless and unexpected.

From a position of control, Argyle were suddenly 3-1 down, thanks to a clinical double from Phil Lowry and a close-range finish from Jared Sims. It could have been even worse, as Jordan Bentley headed against his own bar for the shellshocked visitors.

The youngsters in Green gradually settled back into their rhythm and pulled level at half-time with goals from Daniel Rooney and Ryan Lane.

The second period was one-way traffic, as Godolphin struggled to cope with Argyle’s fluid football. The lead was restored by Alex Battle and three confirmed with further strikes from Josh Richards and a Luke Jephcott penalty.
