Officially Kevin
28th October 2016
KEVIN Johnson will be the referee when Argyle meet Colchester United on Saturday at Home Park.
It will be Kevin's fourth visit to Home Park as the man in the middle - he has never officiated Argyle on the road. His first Pilgrims match, when we played Stevenage in August 2014, was only his third ever game in the EFL. He awarded Argyle a last minute penalty, which Deane Smalley converted, to give Argyle a point in a 1-1 draw.
His next match with us also finished 1-1, against Wimbledon, later that season. His third visit, a 2-1 defeat at home to Gillingham at the beginning of last season, was his most recent. Kevin only showed six yellow cards in those games combined.
This season, in 12 games, he has shown 37 yellows and one red. The sending off was of former Pilgrims Bondz N'Gala, when his Barnet side played Norwich in the Checkatrade Trophy.
Johnson has already taken charge of Colchester this season, when they won 3-2 at home to Grimsby in August.
