Argyle Under-18s 4 Swindon Town 2
ARGYLE'S youngsters notched their first win of the season with a comprehensive win over Swindon at Tavistock's Langsford Park. After a mostly scrappy first half, in which Argyle were on top but struggled to retain the ball, Josh Richards' deflected shot found the net to give the Pilgrims a 1-0 lead at the interval.
After the break, Argyle stepped up their play, and after Alex Fletcher had a goal disallowed, added two more goals to extend their lead. Alex Battle's close range finish and a Dan Rooney goal, where he charged down a clearance from the goalkeeper, put Argyle beyond reach.
Swindon got a goal back before substitute Cameron Sangster's solo run restored the three-goal margin. A late Swindon goal could not dampen a much-deserved, welcome victory for Kevin Hodges' youngsters.
