CSWPL Report - Argyle 7 Newquay 0

LOUIS Rooney top and tailed the Pilgrims' 7-0 victory over Newquay that moved them up to second spot in the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League Premier Division.

Newquay had no answer to a super display from the young Pilgrims, who opened the scoring through Rooney in the 12th minute, as Argyle’s crisp passing proved too much for the lowly visitors to handle.

They doubled their lead through Connor McCauley before Ben Steer added a third, and it was 4-0 at the interval thanks to an effort from Alex Battle.

Argyle showed no sign of resting on their laurels after the break as McCauley added to his tally, and substitute Cameron Sangster also joined the fun before Rooney completed the 7-0 rout.
