Our Perfect Ten
AS Graham Carey scooped the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month award for October, having scored or assisted all five of Argyle’s goals that month, Derek Adams was full of praise for the Irish talisman.
“It shows how well we have done,” said Derek, “and the panel have noticed the performance levels of Plymouth Argyle and the performance of Graham in particular. He has had a number of assists and goals and has been a bit part of why we have been able to pick up the results we have in the month of October.
“There has been a lot of good play and Graham has been part of that. He’s done exceptionally well; he has been a big player since I took him to the football club.
“He has put a run of form together and has been able to get this award.”
Centre-back Ryan Edwards also mentioned Carey’s recent form, particularly highlighting his goalscoring prowess.
“You see it every day with him, the quality he’s got,” said Ryan. “It’s just starting to click for him now. He’s been involved in every goal recently, and he’s capable of scoring from anywhere. I’ve seen that playing with him and against him. He can clearly set them up as well, and he rightly deserves to win that (Player of the Month). The stats speak for themselves.
“You don’t see him score from five yards; he only scores screamers.”
