ALEX Battle continued his outstanding form in the Peninsula League with a superb hat-trick to help the Pilgrims overcome a plucky performance from Exmouth Town on the weekend.

Battle opened the scoring on 22 minutes but we were almost immediately pegged back to level terms, and survived some mild pressure from the hosts until Battle converted again five minutes before half-time.

The hat-trick goal ended the contest midway through the second period and a penalty from Luke Jephcott confirmed our position at the top of the Premier Division.
