Back to the Wall

ARGYLE have been drawn away to Millwall in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

We have met the Lions 115 times in our history, but have not played at the New Den since 2006, when Vincent Pericard scored in a 1-1 draw.

Since then, we have played Millwall twice in cup action, both times at Home Park. We lost in this competition by a single goal in 2011, and lost a 5-3 thriller in November 2015.

Millwall, managed by Neil Harris, are a Championship club who have drawn all three games so far this season: against Middlesbrough, Blackburn and Gillingham. They beat the latter on penalties on Tuesday to progress to this stage.

Manager Derek Adams said: "We are looking forward to visiting Millwall. Obviously, we played them in my first season, at home in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy quarter-final and they have been a good Championship side for a couple of years now.

"I am sure our supporters will be looking foward to going to the Den, too. The London supporters' branch and other fans in that area will not have too far to see us play.

"I would have preferred a home tie, but to play a Championship side away from home is good for us."

The match will be played in the week commencing Monday, August 27.

Confirmation of the date, time of kick-off and ticketing arrangements to come.
