Exeter 3 Argyle Youth 0

ARGYLE conceded twice in injury-time to lose 3-0 at Exeter City in the EFL Youth Aliiance on Tuesday afternoon.

Despite the final result, Argyle put in an improved performance from recent outings in this competition but were unable to penetrate the Grecians’ defence in the relentless rain.

The opening goal came against the run of play, when a ball over the top prompted goalkeeper Harry Townsend to race off his line and concede a dubious penalty, which was converted.

Andy Burn twice went close for the Pilgrims from corners and under-16 debutant, Scott Crocker, was a constant threat with his pace but, as Argyle piled forward in search of an equaliser, Exeter scored two further goals in the last three minutes.

Argyle: Harry Townsend; Michael Peck, Ollie Tomlinson, Tom Purrington, Andrew Burn, Rio Garside, Joe Seery, Jude Boyd (Rubin Wilson 62), Klaidi Lolos, Scott Crocker (Jarvis Cleal 81), Reuben Collum. Substitutes (not used): Finley Craske.
