O'Keefe Unlikely to Return

THE loan period of Stuart O’Keefe at Plymouth Argyle from Cardiff City is due to expire in January and Pilgrim boss Derek Adams is doubtful of a return for the young midfielder.

O’Keefe has been back at his parent-club receiving treatment for an achilles injury since November and, given the expected time-frame for recovery, it is unlikely he will be back in the Green shirt.

In total, O’Keefe made 13 appearances during his time with the Pilgrims but will now understandably focus on earning a new deal at Cardiff City.

“He [O’Keefe] is still back at Cardiff,” said Derek. “He’s got an achilles injury and they want to keep him there for treatment.

“We would rather he came back to us for treatment but their medical team have asked him to be there for treatment. It will probably be the end of his loan spell because Cardiff want him to stay there until the injury is recovered.

“Stuart has got six months left on his contract, so he’s obviously looking to stay at Cardiff or see what other possibilities are available.”
