Swindon Youth 3 Argyle 1

ARGYLE'S run of poor results in the EFL Youth Alliance continued with a third straight defeat at Swindon Town on Saturday morning.

The Pilgrims were, once again, slow to start, as their Wiltshire-based hosts took a 10th-minute lead with a long-range shot. Argyle responded with a corner from Rio Garside that caused mayhem before being cleared off the line.

Rubin Wilson has a shot well saved before Ollie Tomlinson showed good control in the area, only to see his drive come back off the crossbar.

Swindon took advantage of their reprieve to double the lead eight minutes before half-time. Argyle did get on the score-sheet on 56 minutes, when a foul on Jude Boyd gave Klaidi Lolos the chance to convert a penalty.

Unfortunately, hopes of a comeback quickly evaporated as Swindon notched their third goal two minutes later. Heads did not drop with Alfie Wotton's fierce cross-shot flying inches wide of the far post before Lolos saw a couple of shots well blocked by the home defence.

Argyle: Harry Townsend, Isaac Burdon, Alfie Wotton (Reuben Collum 82), Andy Burn, Joe Seery (Rhys Fuller 70), Ollie Tomlinson, Rio Garside, Jarvis Cleal, Rubin Wilson (Brandon Pursall 75), Klaidi Lolos, Jude Boyd (Oscar Massey 70).
