Carabao Cup first round draw
WE have been drawn away to Bristol City in the first round of the Carabao Cup for the second consecutive season.
The match at Ashton Gate will take place in the week beginning August 13, a year to the month that City beat us 5-0 in last year's tournament.
Seventy EFL clubs featured in the new-look draw, which saw teams drawn into northern and southern sections but with no seeding for higher-ranked sides, as in previous seasons.
Clubs have voted to remove extra-time from every round of this season's competition, apart from the final, with matches level at 90 minutes going straight to a penalty shoot-out.
The Wembley final, which takes place on Sunday, February 24 with the winners guaranteed a place in the Europa League, will feature extra-time and penalties, if required.
The format of penalties throughout the competition will revert to the traditional format, as opposed to the recently trialled ABBA formula, which will no longer feature in EFL competitions.
VAR will again be used in the competition and can be incorporated for all games that are played at Premier League stadiums.
The Pilgrims' fixtures for the new Sky Bet League One season, which starts on Saturday, August 4, will be released next Thursday.
