Host Families

ARGYLE are looking for family homes that could accommodate our young players from 15 - 21 years of age, in accordance with the club’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

In certain circumstances, young players may be required to spend periods of time away from home and live in the Plymouth area, preferably close to the club's Home Park Stadium. We are keen to hear from families within the Stoke, Peverell and Mutley areas of the City, who are interested in becoming a host family.

The normal minimum requirements:

  • Sole-occupancy bedroom
  • Breakfast and evening meal (NB dietary advice will be provided and players are expected to be able to follow a healthy diet)
  • Laundry facilities

Accommodation is normally required on a season-long basis but this can be negotiated if required to meet individual circumstances. In addition, there is an occasional need to house visiting trialists on a weekly basis.

If you are interested in applying to provide a caring "home away from home", then please be aware that all applicants will be required to undergo a full assessment with our club staff, including a satisfactory enhanced DBS Criminal Record Check, before a decision can be made as to suitability.

Those intending to host children under the age of 16 will also be required to work within the requirements of Private Fostering Regulations.

A fee is payable to the host family for the duration of the placement.

If you would like further information about this opportunity, please email phil.stokes@pafc.co.uk and pete.bellamy@pafc.co.uk giving brief details of your circumstances and the area in which you live.
