Wylde Concerns

GREGG Wylde joined the Argyle injury list last week after hurting his ankle in training and remains a concern ahead of the FA Cup meeting with Stevenage at Home Park on Saturday.

There is gradual progress on the fitness of Scott Wootton (thigh) and Ryan Taylor (ankle), but Joe Riley (knee) and Gary Sawyer (foot) still have a lot of recovery work, while Ryan Edwards is continuing to struggle with a chest infection.

“He [Wylde] blocked a shot and his ankle twisted,” said Argyle boss Derek Adams. “We’re not sure yet [fitness for Saturday]. We’ll assess him tomorrow but he hasn’t trained this week.

“They’re all slowly progressing and moving along, but at a pace we would like to be quicker. Ryan Taylor is progressing, Scott Wootton progressing after his setback but Joe Riley and Gary Sawyer are going to be the longest.

“He [Taylor] has had a number of problems, not just on one ankle, but both ankles. He broke his ankle and has had a ligament problem, so until that settles down, he’s not able to take part.”
