From Tavvy to Bideford, Via Home Park

THE football starts with a bang tonight, when we travel to Tavistock for a mouth-watering clash in the second round of the Walter C Parson Funeral Directors League Cup.

After a bye in the first round of this premier knock-out competition in the Carlsberg South-West Peninsula League, the fixture computer picked out a potential cup classic.

While the Pilgrims are seven points clear at the top of the league, Tavvy have eight games in hand on the leaders and remain unbeaten this season. It is sure to be a cracker at Langsford Park tonight – kick-off 7.30pm.

It is the same venue for an EFL Youth Alliance clash with Yeovil Town on Saturday morning and young players keen to get back in action after last week’s postponement.

The action moves to Home Park for a Sky Bet League One meeting with Burton Albion on Saturday and then over to Argyle Ladies on Saturday, with the first-team travelling to Bideford to begin their defence of the Devon Senior Cup, while the development side host Bude Town in the FA Women’s South-West League Western Division.
