Crewe for You

MEMBERS of the Green Army making the first away trip of the season on Saturday can take advantage of some generous hospitality from the local Crewe community.

A volunteer group at the Gresty Road Church (CW2 6DY), located a stone’s throw from the Alexandra Stadium, will be on hand from 12pm until 2:30pm, offering free refreshments for travelling supporters. Also available within the community church on Hewitt Street are a selection of sandwiches, hot dogs, soup and hot and cold beverages.

The church regularly opens to welcome football supporters throughout the EFL season and they will be delighted to host members of the 1,600-strong Green Army travelling up from Devon.

If, like many football supporters, you would like to sample a local public house ahead of the game against the Railwaymen, The Raven (CW2 6NA) comes well-recommended, and is opening its doors to Argyle fans heading up to Cheshire. The pub, on Brookhouse Drive, also has a large car park, and is a 15-minute walk from the stadium.
