Match-Day Magic

ON Saturday, Argyle Community Trust welcome Southgate Colts to Home Park for the Sky Bet League Two clash with Colchester, as part of the Match-Day Magic initiative.

Match-Day Magic has been running for over 20 years and is a chance for schools, clubs and charities to experience an unforgettable action-packed day with the Greens. The day includes a stadium tour, a buffet and an hour-long coaching session. It is an extremely exciting opportunity for young Pilgrims across the South West

Alec Brenton, Match-Day Magic Co-ordinator believes the scheme is more popular than ever. “We contact every youth club and school in Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We were fully booked last season and matches get booked very quickly. Clubs are always keen on coming back.”

The lucky visitors this weekend are the players and coaches from Southgate Colts, a football club based in Launceston. They will arrive bright and early at the Theatre of Greens for a 9:30am start - where they will receive a warm welcome, stadium tour and a coaching session in the Life Centre courtesy of the FA qualified coaches within Argyle Community Trust.

Following their training session, they will be treated to a buffet, before having the opportunity to visit the club shop to get kitted out like the rest of the Green Army. Finally, they will make their way to the family stand to watch The Pilgrims take on The U’s.

Rob Chapman, who will be bringing the Colts to Home Park on Saturday, explained that the young football fanatics couldn’t be more enthusiastic about the opportunity to see their beloved Greens.

“We have 20 kids who are all really excited,” he said. “To see the first home game and see the new changing rooms, it’s a great experience for the Argyle fans at the club.”
