First time: John Sheridan’s men drew 1-1 at home to the Boro on Tuesday, August 19, 2014. Substitute Deane Smalley grabbed a point for the Greens with a penalty eight minutes into injury time at the end of the second half.

Last time: Derek Adams’ team warmed up for their third round FA Cup replay with Liverpool four days later by beating Stevenage 4-2 at Home Park on Saturday, January 14, 2017. Jordan Slew, Jake Jervis, Arnold Garita and David Goodwillie scored for the Greens. Steven Schumacher scored from a free-kick in first half injury time to ensure that the Hertfordshire club went in to half-time drawing 2-2. Another Schumacher free-kick had led to the Boro taking a 1-0 lead after just two minutes.

Biggest win: The 4-2 win in January 2017.

Heaviest defeat: Stevenage have never won at Home Park.

Most goals in a single game: Six, in our 4-2 win back in January 2017.

Further interesting facts: Former Scottish international, David Goodwillie, scored his one and only goal for Argyle deep into injury time at the end of our match with Stevenage on January 14, 2017. This was to prove to be Goodwillie’s final appearance for the Pilgrims as he returned to Scotland soon afterwards for personal reasons.

Neither side has kept a clean sheet in this EFL fixture so far, although Argyle did keep Boro out in the First Round of last season’s FA Cup. Our 1-0 victory came courtesy of a Ruben Lameiras strike in stoppage time. In three of the four times that Stevenage have played at Home Park, they have conceded a goal after the 90-minute mark.

The 4-2 win over Stevenage in January 2017 was the 26th time that we have recorded this score line in the EFL. The 27th and most recent occurrence was on February 13, 2018 when AFC Wimbledon were beaten at Home Park.
